Route 04 / The fleet round

Every machine on the round, and every one accounted for

Somebody has to walk the route. Know what hardware exists. Know what is loaded on it. Know which of it slept through the last patch cycle. Notice the morning one of them stops calling in. Nobody gets credit for it, and it prevents more grief than anything else sold here.

Walking the round

N-able N-sight leaves an agent on each machine and keeps a ledger of it. Hardware fitted, software loaded, fixes outstanding, how the storage is bearing up, and whether it reported for duty this morning. Patch runs happen in a window you choose, since nobody wants a restart landing in the middle of a quarter end.

That same agent carries the filtering. Name lookups get measured against category and reputation rules while the machine is still deciding where to go, which turns away a quantity of trouble at the cheapest possible moment. It follows the laptop, so the rules at a hotel match the rules at the office.

A machine nobody counted is a machine nobody is patching

Apple, and the phones

The Apple estate goes to Addigy, and goes there properly. Configuration profiles, encryption posture, and update policy built around how Apple genuinely releases software, rather than translated across from a Windows product and hoped over.

Zimperium takes the handsets. A phone reads mail, keeps session tokens, and approves sign in prompts, which makes it a computer whatever anybody calls it. The judging happens on the handset, and it picks up hostile networks, sideloaded software, and links opened well away from any mail client.

Remote Monitoring and Management

per managed device

N-able N-sight is the round. An agent on each machine reports what hardware is there, what software is installed, which patches are missing, and whether the storage is nearing the end of its patience. Patching runs on a schedule, and a machine that stops reporting shows up as a gap rather than quietly disappearing.

  • A ledger per enrolled machine: hardware fitted, software loaded, fixes outstanding.
  • Patch runs land inside whatever window you nominate.
  • An engineer reaches the machine through that same agent, with nothing else to install.
  • Enrolment for tablets and phones is carried on the same platform.

Web and DNS Filtering

per managed device

Filtering that rides the agent you already have. Name lookups are checked against category and reputation policy before the machine ever opens a connection, which stops a quantity of trouble at a point where stopping it is cheap. No appliance goes in the rack and nothing has to be re-cabled.

  • Category and reputation policy applied at name resolution.
  • Travels with the laptop, so the coffee shop gets the same policy as the office.
  • Bandwidth and browsing reporting from the same agent.
  • Policy exceptions are worked by our desk rather than left to a ticket queue.

Apple Device Management

per Apple device

Addigy runs the Apple side properly. Configuration profiles, FileVault, software updates, and compliance checks that understand how macOS and iOS actually work rather than being translated from a Windows tool and hoping.

  • Configuration and policy enforcement built for macOS and iOS.
  • Encryption posture reported per device, with the recovery key held where it belongs.
  • Update enforcement that respects how Apple ships releases.
  • Compliance reporting per device, so an exception is visible instead of assumed.

Mobile Threat Defense

per mobile device

Zimperium watches the handset itself. Malicious applications, hostile networks, phishing links opened outside the mail client, and operating system tampering. Phones read mail, hold session tokens, and approve sign in prompts, which makes them worth defending even though nobody thinks of them as computers.

  • Judging happens on the handset, so message content is never shipped anywhere.
  • Picks up hostile networks, sideloaded software, and tampering with the operating system.
  • Catches bad links wherever they are opened, not only inside a mail client.
  • Works on company owned and personally owned handsets you enrol.

Honest scope

Where this route ends

Fleet work is inventory, hygiene, and reach. It is not detection, and it never stands in for the standing watch.

  • Patched is not the same as safe. Patching closes the holes that already have published fixes. Everything else on this storefront exists because that is a fraction of the problem.
  • Filtering is one leaky layer. It acts on name lookups. Traffic that never asks for a name, or asks somewhere the agent does not sit, walks around it. Treat it as a cheap first sieve and never as a wall.
  • Unenrolled kit cannot be managed. A machine bought on somebody's own card and never handed across is invisible to the round. That is a purchasing conversation, not a technical one.
  • Phone platforms set the ceiling. Both Apple and Google cap what any security app may observe on a handset. Zimperium works under that cap. Anybody promising complete sight of a modern phone is guessing.
  • Remote hands is a tool, not a budget. The agent gives an engineer a way in. How much engineering time your agreement carries is a separate conversation, and we will have it in the open.
